In Mrs. Leon’s Spanish 1-2 class, South Pasadena Middle School 8th graders recently learned about the Mexican traditions celebrating the Day of the Dead (Día de los Muertos).
Lessons and classwork involved designing group slideshow presentations on topics such as traditional food, decorations, and beliefs. Students will present these slideshows to their classmates.
In addition, students created sugar skulls and decorated them with colorful frostings and sequins. This traditional holiday celebrates the lives of deceased loved ones and focuses on honoring and remembering ancestors.
Go, Tiger Cubs!
