The City is re-launching the General Plan Update process with two upcoming Workshops on June 3rd and June 17th, 2023. These sessions will engage residents in discussions to craft a vision for growth in the community which reflects our core values while meeting our state-mandated housing capacity targets.

The new General Plan, will outline a broad range of long-range policies and programs, which were developed with extensive community input gathered through workshops, surveys and online platforms between 2018 and 2020. The Downtown Specific Plan has been developed to guide development in the center of town where most new development is anticipated. Together, these plans will articulate a shared vision for the City, as well as the recommended policies and actions designed to reach community goals over a twenty year time horizon (2040).

“The General Plan and Downtown Specific Plan are critical documents that will guide many City policy decisions in the years to come,” said City Manager Armine Chaparyan. “We encourage all residents to attend and provide feedback.”
