New Deputy Public Works Director and Chief City Clerk Welcomed to City on Monday

The City of South Pasadena welcomed new Chief City Clerk Maria Ayala and Julian Lee, the newest deputy public works director, as fulltime employees on Monday.

Ayala, who launched her career in 2002, comes to the city from Vernon, where she served as city clerk.

Over the years, she has worked with commissions, board and supported a myriad of projects for municipalities.

Lee’s has more than two decades of experience working for cities and most recently served as utilities and project manager in Norwalk. He comes to South Pasadena with vast knowledge in reservoirs, engineering, pump stations, pipelines and water systems.

Both Ayala and Lee hold masters degrees.
