CALIBRATE, a new and unique premium grooming studio in South Pasadena, celebrated their grand opening on Saturday with an official ribbon cutting ceremony and celebration. The studio, located at 915 Fremont Avenue, is the brainchild of business partners Jonathan Raju and Jason Lopez. Their philosophy states that “when you are well taken care of, you are then able to take care of others.” And with that in mind, Raju and Lopez have created a luxurious space where people can come to receive top of the line, organic grooming that includes hair care, nail care and here’s the kicker, get your car custom detailed while you receive your care. That’s right, a one stop shop to have you and your car looking sharp and ready to go.

Raju was joined at the celebration by his wife, Lani Hashimoto-Raju, their children, Nathan and Neela, along with Lani’s mother, Mary Hashimoto and Jonathan’s father, Boligala Raju. Lopez was joined by his mother, Luz Marina, his brother, Steven and his grandparents, Carlos and Celia. Celebrating with them was Mayor Jon Primuth, Mayor Pro-Tem, Evelyn Zniemer, Councilmember Janet Braun, District Representative for Senator Anthony Portantino, Jack Artan, South Pasadena Chamber of Commerce CEO, Laurie Wheeler, and Chamber Ambassadors, Tracy Macrum, Michelle Downing, Wende Lee, and Dennis Kona, along with friends and local well-wishers.

Raju and Lopez cut the official ribbon together to the cheers of all those in attendance. “We look forward to bringing value to the community,” said Lopez. “We’re very excited to be here. It’s been a long journey but we’re just getting started and we’re really excited and want to thank the city of South Pasadena.” Raju was genuinely moved by the turnout saying, “thank you all for your support. This has been a labor of love. Thank you to our families. We’re really looking forward to all that’s to come. It was a kooky idea we had during the pandemic and we said, “let’s go for it” and we accidentally started a business.” He then introduced his son, Nathan, who is currently helping out with the car detailing, which is provided by Kenny Owens of Dr. Detail.
Laurie Wheeler said, “We are so excited to have Calibrate Grooming here in the city,” and introduced Mayor Primuth who presented the owners with a Certificate of Appreciation. “On behalf of the members of the City Council and the City of South Pasadena,” said Primuth, “we want to recognize and congratulate Calibrate Grooming, offering a premium grooming studio for men. Thank you for your commitment to bring elevated care to the South Pasadena community. We wish you success!” District Representative for Senator Anthony Portantino, Jack Artan, presented Raju and Lopez with a proclamation saying, “presented to Calibrate Grooming in recognition of your grand opening. On behalf of California State Senator Anthony Portantino
