Brush Fire on Arroyo Drive Quickly Extinguished in Blazing Heat

At 5:00 pm on Saturday August 26, South Pasadena Police Department was first on the scene at the intersection of Arroyo Drive and Hermosa Street. They noticed a tree on Arroyo Drive was on fire and some embers ignited the hillside of Arroyo Park.

South Pasadena Fire arrived and a perimeter was established for a several block radius. They were assisted by San Marino, Pasadena and LA County in extinguishing the fire quickly and subsequent clean up. No one was hurt and no structures damaged.

We are currently experiences a massive heatwave with temperatures skyrocketing into triple digits. Fire and Police are on high alert due to fire risk and citizens are cautioned to stay indoors and keep hydrated.

The exact cause of the brush fire is under investigation.
