Pasadena Police, San Marino Police, and South Pasadena Police Departments chased a male on foot described as Hispanic about 20 years old wearing a black shirt and shorts Friday evening about 4:30 pm, according to reports on the scene.
According to South Pasadena Police Detective Hang, San Marino PD attempted to make a stop on a speeding vehicle. The vehicle failed to yield and SMPD chased him over to the Amberwood area of Raymond Hill in South Pasadena. The suspect then ditched the car at City Crest Ave. and fled on foot in to the neighborhood.
The police formed a perimeter and searched the area on foot along with helicopter and police K9 units.
At least one Raymond Hill resident reported that the suspect attempted to “give them money to hide out”.
After about an hour long extensive search it was apparent the suspect got away, according to SPPD. K9 units and police helicopter were called off about 5:20pm.
