A transformer exploded on the 400 block of Prospect road on Thursday, July 5, resulting in a downed powerline. The high-voltage power line fell onto a driveway and into the middle of the street, in front of a smoldering tree. The entire block was closed off, as the South Pasadena Police and Fire assessed the damage. It is not clear at this time how long it will take for the issue to be resolved.
