The building of the South Pasadena Rose Parade Float is one of the city’s oldest and proudest community traditions. Each year, hundreds of volunteers design, weld, and decorate South Pasadena’s self-built entry for the Pasadena Tournament of Roses Parade.
To help fund that effort, the South Pasadena Tournament of Roses (SPTOR) is hosting its annual Yard Sale fundraiser on Friday, September 12, and Saturday, September 13, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the War Memorial Building (435 Fair Oaks Ave., South Pasadena)

Supporting the 2026 Float
All proceeds from the sale directly support the 2026 South Pasadena Rose Parade Float, ensuring the city’s century-long tradition of building its own float continues. South Pasadena is the oldest and longest-running self-built float entry in the Tournament of Roses, and the float remains a year-round labor of love made possible only by community fundraising and volunteer dedication.
Shop, Donate, Participate
Organizers invite residents from South Pasadena and the San Gabriel Valley to shop for bargains, donate usable goods, and enjoy a community event that supports a legacy unique to South Pasadena. “Every item bought helps put flowers on the float,” one volunteer noted.
