The Hive South Pasadena has announced its relocation to 1118 Mission Street, South Pasadena, CA 91030. The move marks an exciting new chapter for the community arts space, which will host a soft opening in mid-April, followed by the Eclectic Festival on April 26. The festival will feature live music, arts, crafts, and a flower show, all free to the public.
Monthly Art & Creativity Workshops
The Hive will continue to offer its popular monthly classes and creative workshops, including:
- Women’s Art Journaling – A visual expression class using collage, paint, and mixed media. Held on Tuesdays (10:30 AM-12:30 PM) and Thursdays (7:00-9:00 PM). $30 per session.
- Kids’ Art – Weekly workshops for children aged 6+ on Fridays (3:30-5:00 PM). Sessions on April 11, 18, and 25. $35 per session or $140/month.
- Tiny Worlds – A hands-on miniature diorama class. $40 per session. Date TBD.
- Kids’ Night Out – A night of crafting, food, and a movie for children aged 6+. Scheduled for April 18, from 6:00-8:00 PM. $35 per child.
Special Events in April 2025
In addition to its recurring classes, The Hive will offer unique workshops and community events:
- Stronger Through Art (April 6) – A healing space for artists affected by the fires to share stories and process their experiences.
- Printing Class (April 16) – Jim McGlynn will lead a hands-on printmaking workshop. $70 per participant.
- Beginners Knitting (April 17, May 1) – A class for adults to learn basic stitches and knitting techniques. $50 per participant.
- Eclectic Festival (April 26) – A community celebration featuring musicians, an art journaling show, crafts for kids, and a flower show.
- Soul Collage in Change (May 3) – A guided session on personal transformation through collage. $65 for one session, $110 for two.

Future events in May will include bookbinding classes and an afternoon of clairvoyance.
