Young kids clad in colorful pajamas had an opportunity to giggle with friends as they watched their teachers perform on stage during a pair of story time performances Thursday night at Arroyo Vista and Monterey Hills Elementary Schools, respectively.
Teachers were joined by school staff members and special guests as they reenacted a series of children’s books for a lively and appreciative audience.
The applause was loud for those inside the multipurpose room at Monterey Hills while Arroyo Vista held its event outdoors in the courtyard where families enjoyed summer-like weather.
Those on stage, some making their live performance debut, dressed in character for every scene by wearing a variety of costumes dictated by the book’s description.
One parent at Arroyo Vista School was overheard saying: “This is great. The students really love seeing their teachers perform.” As she said it, the giggles and laughter didn’t let up.
