The first Ace Hardware Store was opened in 1924 in Chicago Illinois. Now, there are over 5,000 locations with about 86,000 employees.  Ace Hardware is an international corporation that generates about $5.5 billion in revenue annually.

The name “ACE” Hardware was inspired by the World War I ‘Ace’ fighter pilots.  The corporation was formed in 1928.
