Hodis Learning and Music (HLM) is excited to announce their new Academic Coaching program to help students develop important academic skills like time management, organization, prioritization, and study skills.
These are also known as executive functioning skills.
“Schools don’t typically teach executive functioning skills directly, and that can really slow students down,” says HLM President Drew M. Hodis. “As students get older, and classwork becomes more demanding, executive functioning becomes imperative for success. Students need to manage their time well, they need to study smart, they need to be organized.”
Academic coaches are trained by Hodis, who has over 10 years of experience as an academic coach and is currently working towards his Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology.
Coaches meet weekly with Hodis to learn about executive dysfunction, how to develop a customized curriculum, and evaluate student progress.
