Mayor Sheila Rossi and the South Pasadena City Council are calling a Special Joint Meeting on Wednesday, July 22, 2026, at 6:30 p.m. to host the 2026 Commissioner Convening.
The gathering will take place both in person at the South Pasadena Public Library and online via Zoom.
The primary focus of the evening is a presentation of the 2025-2026 Commission accomplishments and workplans.
This is a unique opportunity for residents to hear directly from the city’s nine distinct advisory bodies in a single, unified session.
City leaders, including Mayor Pro Tem Omari Ferguson and Councilmembers Michael A. Cacciotti, Jon Primuth, and Janet Braun, will be present to review these critical updates.
The meeting will feature reports from groups that shape the character and safety of our beloved city. The advisory bodies sharing their progress include:
• Community Services Commission
• Cultural Heritage Commission
• Finance Commission
• Library Board of Trustees
• Natural Resources and Environmental Commission
• Planning Commission
• Public Art Commission
• Public Safety Commission
• Public Works Infrastructure Commission
Civic transparency only works when the community actively participates. The City Council welcomes public input on agendized items, granting members of the public three minutes to address the council.
Chief City Clerk Nikima Newsome has certified the meeting agenda, which includes extensive guidelines to ensure public participation and accessibility for all.
