City officials provided no information when contacted. Later in the day, the city’s public information officer stated that the matter had been referred to the Los Angeles County Coroner’s Office, with no further information released by the city.

Unconfirmed reports from some area residents suggested the deceased may have been a woman experiencing homelessness who had been seen in the neighborhood in the days prior. Those details have not been verified by The South Pasadenan News staff.

As of this report, no official identification, cause of death, or additional details have been released by the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner’s Office or South Pasadena police. The case remains under investigation by the coroner, which handles determination of cause and manner of death, as well as identification and next-of-kin notification in such incidents.

The South Pasadenan will provide updates as more information becomes available from official sources.

This is the third consecutive month in which a person has died on the streets of South Pasadena.

In February 2026, a man was found deceased on a park bench along Arroyo Drive. In March 2026, an elderly male pedestrian was struck by a vehicle at Fair Oaks Avenue and Hope Street and later died at a hospital. And now Tuesday, April 7, 2026, emergency responders were apparently called about a person found deceased on the street.
