Children ages 4–12 are invited to practice their reading skills with Sawyer, a friendly therapy dog, on Wednesday, March 11, from 4:30 PM to 5:30 PM at the South Pasadena Public Library.
Improving Literacy with a Furry Friend
This beloved community program provides a relaxed, non-judgmental environment where young readers can build confidence. Reading to a certified therapy dog helps reduce anxiety and makes literacy an engaging, positive experience.
“Sawyer is an excellent listener,” says a library staff member. “The children really light up when they get to share a story with a patient, furry companion who never corrects them.”
