Synchromy presents UNISON: An LA Fires Recovery Concert on Sunday, March 1, 2026, at 4:30 p.m. at The Wende Museum, bringing together music, reflection, and community in response to the Eaton and Palisades fires.

The free concert will feature four world premiere compositions by Los Angeles–based composers who lost their homes in the fires: Jeffrey Bernstein, Bobak Loftipour, Joan Huang, and Savannah Jo Lack. The new works will be performed by The Lyris Quartet, pianist Aron Kallay, and composer-performer Bobak Loftipour.

Admission is free, with optional donation levels available. All proceeds will benefit the LA Fire Relief Fund at MusiCares, which provides emergency assistance to musicians and music industry workers nationwide. Tickets may be reserved online at https://givebutter.com/b2vNc7.

Bernstein’s 91001 serves as a musical love letter to Altadena, where he lived for two decades. Drawing inspiration from the San Gabriel Mountains, neighborhood sounds, and winter night skies, the piece reflects a deep sense of place, resilience, and belonging.

Loftipour’s Acorns is inspired by a live oak tree that survived the fire behind his former Altadena home. The work reflects on memory and loss through sound, capturing what remains when a home is gone but life continues.

In Phoenix Nirvana, Joan Huang traces an emotional arc through the months following the Eaton Fire, moving from chaos and destruction toward renewal and strength. The piece culminates in a transformed return of Beethoven’s Pastoral theme, symbolizing rebirth.

Savannah Jo Lack’s Fire in Four Fractures explores the emotional aftermath of fire through four states: fear, endurance, mourning, and hope. Rather than depicting flames, the work reflects the lasting psychological and environmental imprints left behind.

Synchromy is a Los Angeles–based composer service organization dedicated to elevating underrepresented composers through commissions, collaboration, and community engagement. The organization reimagines the concert experience to connect adventurous artists and audiences.

This performance is made possible in part by the City of Culver City and its Cultural Affairs Commission, with additional support from Sony Pictures Entertainment, the Pasadena Community Foundation, and FireAid.
