The American Red Cross will host a community blood drive on Friday, January 30, from 10:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at the South Pasadena Public Library Community Room, located at 1115 El Centro Street.
Residents are encouraged to schedule a life-saving donation appointment in advance by visiting RedCrossBlood.org and entering sponsor code SOPASLIB. Walk-ins may be accommodated as space allows, but appointments are strongly recommended.
To help streamline the donation process and reduce wait times, donors can complete their pre-donation reading and health history questions ahead of time by visiting RedCrossBlood.org/RapidPass on the day of the drive. This step can save up to 15 minutes during check-in.
The Red Cross notes that blood donations are critical to maintaining a stable blood supply for hospitals and emergency care, and community participation plays a vital role in meeting ongoing needs.
The blood drive is open to eligible donors and will take place throughout the day.
