The Los Angeles Fire Department (LAFD) responded to a vegetation fire in the 4000 block of Harriman Avenue, near Pullman Street, at approximately 3:45 p.m. on Monday, July 21. The fire has prompted no evacuation orders, though heavy smoke and falling ash was reported in South Pasadena and surrounding neighborhoods.

Firefighters Act Quickly to Contain Blaze

Fire crews were on the scene for about an hour, working to contain and extinguish the vegetation fire. The cause of the fire has not yet been determined, and officials have not reported any injuries or damage to structures as of the time of this report.

South Pasadena Fire Department Monitoring Situation

The South Pasadena Fire Department (SPFD) confirmed that while the fire is outside city limits, they are closely monitoring the situation due to the smoke and potential spread of ash into local neighborhoods. Residents were advised to stay indoors if they are sensitive to smoke or air quality changes.

Air Quality Advisory

Although no evacuation orders have been issued, authorities did recommend that residents in affected areas close windows and doors and limit outdoor activities while the smoke persists.
