According to a report by Pasadenanow.com News, the South Pasadena Public Library will host “Anime Your Way”, a dynamic and engaging anime drawing event, on Wednesday, July 2, 2025, at 6:00 p.m. as part of its Wonderful Wednesday summer series. The event will take place on the Oxley Street side of Library Park and feature a hands-on workshop led by artist Carlos Nieto III.
Designed for budding artists of all ages, the session introduces participants to a fresh, DIY approach to drawing anime characters—no previous drawing experience required.

Summer of Fun and Learning at the Library
The Wonderful Wednesday series continues throughout the summer with a variety of engaging programs for children, teens, adults, and families. The next event will take place on July 9 at 6:00 p.m., with more exciting programming planned through August 2.
Weekly Storytimes for Young Readers
As part of the Library’s Summer Reading Program, weekly storytimes promote early literacy and cognitive development for young children:
- Preschool Storytime: Tuesdays, 10:30–11:00 a.m. (Ages 3–5)
- Toddler Storytime: Thursdays, 10:30–10:50 a.m. and 11:00–11:20 a.m. (Ages 1–3)
- Family Storytime: Saturdays, 10:30–11:00 a.m. (All ages)
These fun and educational sessions help children build essential listening, communication, and social skills that support school readiness.
Inclusive Programming for Adults
For adult patrons, the library offers enriching opportunities like:
- All Abilities Club (AAC): For adults with disabilities. Meets in the Library Community Room (1115 El Centro Street) at 10:00 a.m. on July 11 and August 8. No registration required.
- Walk ‘N Talk Book Club: A walking book discussion group that meets July 9 at 9:00 a.m. on Oxley Street in front of the Library. Registration required at southpasadenaca.gov/register.
Summer Reading Program Runs Through August 2
The Summer Reading Program, which runs through August 2, encourages readers of all ages to track their reading, claim prizes, and attend a variety of library events. Research shows reading just 20 minutes a day can help children maintain a strong literacy advantage throughout the summer months. The program aims to reduce the “summer slide” and inspire a lifelong love of reading.
Accessibility and Contact Information
Reasonable accommodations are available for qualified individuals with disabilities. Requests must be submitted at least four (4) business days before the event. Contact (626) 403-7431 or visit southpasadenaca.gov/ADA for details.
