In response to the emotional toll of the recent Eaton Fire, Senator Sasha Renée Pérez will host a community town hall titled “Healing Together: Our Children’s Mental Health After the Eaton Fire” on Saturday, June 28, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at Pasadena City College’s Creveling Lounge.
The event will focus on providing families with tools and resources to support children affected by the trauma of the fire. Mental health professionals, state officials, and local organizations will gather to offer strategies, services, and support systems that help children and youth process stress and recover in a healthy way.
Mental health experts and resources on-site
Attendees will hear from mental health experts and have the opportunity to ask questions during a moderated Q&A session. Informational tables will be hosted by leading community and state organizations, including:
- California Children and Youth Behavioral Health Initiative
- Los Angeles County Department of Mental Health
- Didi Hirsch Suicide Prevention Center
- NAMI San Gabriel Valley
- Chinatown Service Center
- Young & Healthy
- Sycamores
Senator Pérez’s team will also be available to connect attendees with state programs and legislative resources.
