South Pasadena Announces 2025 Summer Events at Garfield Park

The City of South Pasadena is proud to announce the return of its 2025 summer event series at Garfield Park, offering a full season of free, family-friendly entertainment under the stars. Set to take place from June through August, the lineup features live music, outdoor movie nights, and Shakespearean theater performances—promising fun for all ages.

Concerts in the Park: Live Music Every Month

Get ready to dance, picnic, and unwind with live music in the heart of Garfield Park, located at 1000 Park Avenue. The Concerts in the Park series offers a variety of genres, from Latin soul to retro rock, all performed from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on select Sundays.

Concert Schedule:

  • June 29: Latin Soul Band
    Food vendors: La Oveja, Lilus Boba
  • July 27: ACME Time Machine
    Food vendors: The Standard Burger, Tikiz Shaved Ice
  • August 3: Soul3Sixty
    Food vendors: Andreas Catering, Rio Soft Serve
  • August 17: Live from Earth – Pat Benatar & Beyond
    Food vendors: Lilus Boba, The Taco Cartel

Attendees are encouraged to bring lawn chairs, blankets, and picnic baskets—or enjoy tasty offerings from local food vendors.

Movies in the Park: Friday Night Films for the Family

Enjoy a movie under the stars during Movies in the Park, perfect for family outings and community fun. Screenings begin at sunset and take place on select Fridays.

  • July 11: A Minecraft Movie

Shakespeare in the Park: Classic Theater Returns

In partnership with Shakespeare by the Sea, the City brings professional outdoor theater to Garfield Park with two special performances. Shows begin at 7:00 p.m.

Performance Schedule:

  • Saturday, July 19: Julius Caesar
  • Sunday, July 20: As You Like It

This is a great opportunity to experience timeless drama and comedy in a picturesque outdoor setting.
