Open Screen, the monthly open mic-style film screening event for indie creators, returns on Tuesday, June 3, 2025, at The Lyric Hyperion in Los Angeles. Filmmakers are encouraged to arrive early to secure a screening slot or reserve one of the limited pre-booked spots available for guaranteed viewing.
The evening begins at 6:30 p.m. with sign-ups, followed by the show at 7:30 p.m. and an afterparty at 9:00 p.m.
A Platform for Emerging Filmmakers
Open Screen gives creators of all experience levels the chance to share their work with a live audience. From short films to experimental video art, the event has become a staple in LA’s indie film scene. Due to growing popularity — with the event hitting its runtime limit five months in a row — organizers now recommend arriving between 6:30 and 7:00 p.m. if you want your video screened.
Alternatively, attendees can purchase one of the three premium “pre-reserved screening slot” tickets, ensuring their film makes it into the night’s program.
