Quartet Continues Tradition of Excellence
Formed in 2001 and inspired by the original Hollywood String Quartet, the New Hollywood String Quartet (NHSQ) has earned critical acclaim throughout Southern California. Its members—Tereza Stanislav (violin), Rafael Rishik (violin), Robert Brophy (viola), and Andrew Shulman (cello)—are renowned soloists and chamber musicians with extensive experience in film scoring and orchestral performance.
The NHSQ has performed in numerous prestigious series across the Los Angeles area and was featured on the Grammy-nominated album Passing Through, playing Gernot Wolfgang’s “String Theory.” Their latest recording, The Paper Lined Shack, includes Jeff Beal’s “Things Unseen” for String Quartet.
