| Congratulations to South Pasadena Unified School District’s (SPUSD) 2024 Teacher of the Year, Oliver Valcorza, who was honored at the Los Angeles County Teacher of the Year ceremony held on September 20, 2024 at the Universal Hilton Hotel.
Every year, SPUSD recognizes outstanding school site teachers of the year for their care, compassion, and ingenuity in their classrooms. As the SPUSD representative, Mr. Valcorza joined 69 teachers representing 65 school districts who participated in the 43rd Annual Los Angeles County Teachers of the Year competition. Designed to focus public attention on teaching excellence and to honor exemplary dedication and professional commitment, the competition is the largest of its type in the country. Mr. Valcorza impressively qualified in the top 25 teachers of the year during the competition.
