The Boy Scout greenery sale has been a tradition in South Pasadena for over 70 years. Last year Troop 342 invited Troop 7 to join their greenery fundraiser. This year, Troop 7 continues the tradition and serves South Pasadena. I was one of the Troop 7 scouts at last year’s greenery sale. I learned a lot and had a great time. This year, I am excited to do it again! All proceeds from our greenery sales go towards funding Troop activities like Camp Royaneh and merit badge classes. A lot of my fellow scouts joined the greenery sale with me this year to reach our goal of $30,000 in sales.

My favorite part of selling greenery is walking through the neighborhoods of South Pasadena and meeting people in the community. I had the pleasure of meeting a resident who once organized the greenery sale for Troop 366. She ordered a wreath this year for her son who lives in Texas. Her son was a South Pasadena Eagle Scout in Troop 366 back in 2003, and he was a top seller of greenery in his troop!
I also learned some important lessons on salesmanship. For example, practice your sales pitch and always be ready. People ask all kinds of questions, and you want to be confident and well-prepared.
For the next few weeks my fellow scouts and I will continue selling holiday greenery throughout South Pasadena. You can support by placing an order online on our website:
https://sherwoodfundraiser.com/BSATroop7SouthPasadena.
Your fresh greenery will be delivered in the first week of December. Orders will close on October 31.
Thank you for supporting Troop 7!
Yours in Scouting,
Lucas G.
