
Suspect Evades Police, Later Found Hiding in Vehicle
On Saturday, March 15, 2025, at approximately 10:42 P.M., South Pasadena Police officers observed a 2021 gray Honda Accord speeding in the 2000 block of Huntington Drive. Due to the excessive speed, officers initiated a traffic stop near Huntington Drive and Garfield Avenue.
The driver, identified as 25-year-old Mike Orozco of San Gabriel, refused to comply and fled the scene. Officers pursued the vehicle through the City of San Marino but terminated the chase for safety reasons.
Helicopter Assists in Tracking Suspect
Minutes later, the Pasadena Police Department’s helicopter located Orozco as he drove to his residence. He briefly entered his home before returning to his vehicle and attempting to flee again. The helicopter tracked Orozco’s movements and guided officers to his location.
Arrest and Firearm Discovery
Officers found Orozco parked along a curb, attempting to hide. Following a high-risk stop, they safely took him into custody without incident. A search of the vehicle led to the discovery of two loaded, unregistered firearms on the driver’s side floorboard.
Charges Filed
Orozco is currently being held at the Pasadena City Jail on multiple charges, including:
• Felony evading
• Multiple weapon charges
• Driving under the influence of alcohol
