Pasadena Playhouse, the official State Theater of California and 2023 Regional Theatre Tony Award recipient, will present a lavish revival of Peter Shaffer’s “Amadeus” from Wednesday, February 11, to Sunday, March 8, 2026, with a press opening on Sunday, February 15. Tickets are on sale now at PasadenaPlayhouse.org.

Tony Award winner Jefferson Mays (A Gentleman’s Guide to Love and Murder, I Am My Own Wife) stars as Antonio Salieri, while Broadway’s Sam Clemmett (Harry Potter and the Cursed Child, Queen Charlotte: A Bridgerton Story) takes on Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart. Their electric chemistry drives this Tony and Oscar-winning masterpiece.

Joining the cast are Tony Award nominee Lauren Worsham (Constanze), Kenajuan Bentley (Van Swieten), Jared Andrew Bybee (Cook/Major-Domo), Jennifer Chang (Venticelli), Matthew Patrick Davis (Joseph II), Michelle Allie Drever (Katherine Cavaileri/Soprano), Alaysha Fox (Theresa Salieri/Soprano), Matthew Henerson (Count Johann Kilian Von Strack), John Lavelle (Orsini-Rosenberg), Brent Schindele (Chef/Pianist/Harpsichordist), and Hilary Ward (Venticelli).

“Amadeus” explores the intense rivalry between Salieri, the court’s celebrated musician, and Mozart, the prodigious but vulgar genius whose brilliance threatens Salieri’s life work. Laced with biting wit, music, and drama, the production examines ambition, envy, and the price of greatness.
