SPPD Weekly Crime Summary | February 9-15, 2021

 

The Weekly Crime Summary is a list of reported auto thefts, burglaries, robberies and other activities occurring in the City of South Pasadena. THEFT

• 2-5-21, 5:26 PM, 200 Block of Grace. Suspect enters victim’s property and takes loss without permission. SUSPECT DESCRIPTION: Male, bald, tattoos on head and left arm, medium build, mustache and goatee, wearing black sleeveless shirt, long black shorts, black socks, and black and white tennis shoes. LOSS: Bicycle (recovered on 2-10-21).
• 2-11-21, 1:56 AM, Fremont and Rollin. Suspects are stopped for a traffic violation and found to be in possession of catalytic converters, burglary tools, and, in addition, the passenger is found to be in possession of narcotics. SUSPECTS ARRESTED: S1- Male, 25 years, Hispanic, Los Angeles. S2- Male, 34 years, Hispanic, La Puente. S3- Male, 22 years, Hispanic, Los Angeles.
• 2-10-21, 5:30 PM to 2-11-21, 8:10 AM, 700 Block of Mission. ’08 Lexus GX 470. Suspect(s) cut and remove loss from victim’s vehicle. LOSS: Catalytic converters.
• 2-11-21, 10:19 AM, 900 Block of Fair Oaks (Rite-Aid). Suspect enters store and takes loss without paying. LOSS: Hair trimmer (recovered). SUSPECT ARRESTED: Male, White, 28 years, Los Angeles.
• 1-21-21, 10 PM to 1-22-21, 3 AM, 1100 Block of Huntington. ’06 Toyota Prius. Suspect(s) cut and remove loss from victim’s vehicle. LOSS: Catalytic converter.
• 1-15-21, 12:00 AM to 6:30 AM, 500 Block of Magnolia. Suspect(s) cut chain and remove loss from victim’s property. LOSS: Bicycle.
• 2-11-21, 10:30 PM to 2-12-21, 10:30 AM, 600 block of Orange Grove. ’07 Toyota Prius. Suspect(s) cut and remove loss from victim’s vehicle. LOSS: Catalytic converter.

FRAUD

• 1-24-21, 6:32 AM to 2-9-21, 9:45 AM, 1700 Block of Garfield. Suspect(s) gains access to victim’s debit card by unknown means and makes an unauthorized purchase. LOSS: U.S currency.
• 3-15-19 to 2-10-21, 700 Block of Orange Grove. Suspect(s) use victim’s social security info and other personal information to set up an account with a phone company without victim’s permission.

VEHICLE BURGLARY

• 2-15-21, 1:39 PM to 2:33 PM, 800 Block of Stoney, ’14 Jeep Wrangler. Suspect(s) shatter the front passenger window to victim’s vehicle and take loss. LOSS: Purse and a small bag.

RESIDENTIAL BURGLARY

• 2-11-21, 6:50 PM, 1700 Block of Camino Lindo. Suspect smash rear glass door to gain entry, activating alarm. Suspects quickly ransack house and exit to a waiting vehicle parked in front of house. LOSS: Unknown. SUSPECT VEHICLE: Mid to late 2000, White colored, 4-door, Lexus NX compact SUV with tinted windows and a purple/magenta colored “Lyft” light sign on the front dashboard. SUSPECTS DESCRIPTION: (3) subjects wearing hooded jackets and (1) subject as driver.

POSSESSION OF CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE

• 2-11-21, 12:32 AM, Pasadena and Arroyo. Officers conduct a pedestrian stop on a subject walking in the street. Subject is found to be in possession of a controlled substance and drug paraphernalia. SUSPECT ARRESTED: Male, Hispanic, 39 years, Los Angeles.
• 2-12-21, 7:26 PM, 200 Block of St Albans. Officers conduct a welfare check on a subject and subject is found to be in possession of a controlled substance. SUSPECT ARRESTED: Male, Hispanic, 35 years, Los Angeles.

POSSESSION OF PARAPHERNALIA

• 2-6-21, 10:33 AM, 1000 Block of Fair Oaks. Officers conduct a pedestrian stop and subject is found to be in possession of paraphernalia. SUSPECT ARRESTED: Male, 39 years, Hispanic, South Gate.

POSSESSION OF BURGLARY TOOLS

• 2-9-21, 2:28 AM,1600 Block of Camden Parkway. Suspects are stopped for a traffic violation and found to be in possession of burglary tools. SUSPECTS ARRESTED: S1- Male, Hispanic, 38 years, Los Angeles. S2- Male, Hispanic, 36 years, Los Angeles.

COMMERCIAL BURGLARY

• 2-11-21, 4:37 AM, 1100 Block of Fair Oaks (South Pasadena Eye Care). Suspect(s) shatter rear glass door to building to gain entry, which activates alarm. SUSPECT VEHICLE: Black, mid to late 2000, 4-door compact vehicle (Nissan Sentra type). SUSPECT DESCRIPTION: Female, wearing a lightcolored hooded sweatshirt and black face mask. LOSS: Prescription glasses.

TRESPASS

• 2-9-21, 7:20 PM, 1200 Block of Oak. Officers contact suspect regarding being on victim’s property without permission. SUSPECT ARRESTED: Male, White, 32 years, South Pasadena.

DUI

• 2-10-21, 11:35 PM, 1200 Block of Kolle. Suspect is stopped for a traffic violation and is found to be driving under the influence of alcohol. SUSPECT ARRESTED: Male, Hispanic, 30 years, Rosemead.
• 2-13-21, 12:33 AM, Pasadena and Arroyo. Officer(s) respond to a traffic collision and the driver is found to be under the influence of alcohol. SUSPECT ARRESTED: Male, Hispanic, 27 years, Long Beach.

BRANDISHING A DEADLY WEAPON

• 2-10-21, 7:32 PM, 1700 Block of Hansom. Officers respond to reports of suspect brandishing a stick and yelling at victims. Suspect is later contacted and advised not to return to victim’s residence.

POSSESSION OF A LOADED FIREARM IN PUBLIC

• 2-14-21, 11:31 PM, Columbia and Pasadena. Suspect is stopped for a traffic violation and found to be in possession of marijuana and a loaded pistol. SUSPECT ARRESTED: Male, 29 years, Altadena.

RESISTING AND OBSTRUCTING

• 2-6-21, 1:22 PM, 900 Block of Arroyo. Officers respond to a theft of a bicycle and locate suspect with loss. Suspect leads officers on a pursuit and is finally detained. LOSS: Bicycle (recovered). SUSPECT ARRESTED: Male, Hispanic, 39 years, Los Angeles.
