Carjacked at Knife Point on Garfield Ave | South Pasadena

On Thursday, August 26, 2021, at 1:11 a.m., a 73-year-old female resident of Alhambra was inside her car, parked in the 1900 block of Huntington Drive in South Pasadena. The victim was using her cellular telephone when two unknown males approached her.

The first male opened the unlocked door of the vehicle and forced the female victim out at knifepoint. At the same time, the second male entered the front passenger side of the car. Both males took the victim’s car and left the area heading south. The female victim was uninjured but lost her telephone and purse, which were inside her car. The female returned to her home a short time later, where she notified the police.

At 4:30 a.m., South Pasadena officers spotted the victim’s car traveling northbound in the 600 block of Fair Oaks Avenue. As officers attempted to conduct a traffic stop, a slow-speed pursuit ensued, ending in the 1300 block of Garfield Avenue.

The driver, 20-year-old Celaya Wilson of Los Angeles, and the passenger, 22-year old Emmanuel Navarro of Fontana, were arrested without incident. During a search of the vehicle, several items of evidentiary value were located.
