The following will be offered at the South Pasadena Senior Center from July 13 to July 20.
Friday, July 13, 10:30 a.m. – Post Retirement for Aging in Place – Presenter will provide cost of care, information on funding resources and advanced directives. Presented by Maxine Vo with Transitions Hospice.
Monday, July 16 8:30 a.m. -10:30 a.m. Glucose & Blood Pressure Clinic – Fast 1.5 hours prior for Glucose test. Walk-ins welcome.
Monday, July 16, 10:30 a.m. – Chair Yoga – exercise and strengthen core areas while working out from a chair. Led by Kathy Eastwood with Huntington Hospital. Sign up required.
Tuesday, July 17, 8:30 a.m. – Meditation – Learn to calm the mind and focus on the positivity of the task at hand. Learn to develop the tool to expand one’s consciousness. Led by certified instructor Candace Podvoll. Cost per month $16 or $5 walk in fee.
Wednesday, July 18, 10 a.m. – Book Discussion Group meets the third Wednesday of each month, with book selections made months in advance. Contact the Center to obtain the list of books, group is open to members of the Center.
Thursday, July 19 & 20, 9 a.m. -12 noon – AARP Smart Driver Course – this new and improved course curriculum is designed to focus on areas where mature drivers could benefit from additional training to include: roundabouts, pavement markings, stop sign compliance and much more. Cost for AARP members $15, all others $20. Advanced sign up needed.
Friday, July 20, 10 a.m. – Smart Driver TEK class – Offered by AARP – the more you know about your vehicle technology, the safer one will be. Understanding how the newest car technology works can make driving safer and enjoyable. Register for this free ninety minute Smart Driver TEK workshop by calling 1-877-805-4115.

Friday July 13 – Brown Rice Patty w/ Mushroom Gravy; Monday, July 16 – Chicken Salad Sandwich; Tuesday, July 17 – Pork Roast; Wednesday, July 18 – Sloppy Joes; Thursday, July 19 – Stuffed Cabbage; Friday, July 20 – BBQ Shredded Chicken & Baked Beans. The lunches are provided for those ages 55 and older at $2.25 per meal. Reservations are required in advance.
