South Pasadena Police Department | Catalytic Converter Theft Suspects Arrested

NEWS RELEASE

On Tuesday, April 12, 2022, at 2:06 a.m., South Pasadena police officers were dispatched to the 1700 block of Grevelia Street for a report of a possible catalytic converter theft. The witness reported the suspects had driven away in a dark-colored sedan.

Moments later, officers located the sedan and conducted a traffic stop in the 600 block of Park Street. The officers contacted the driver, 40-year-old Jorge Alberto Rodriguez from Los Angeles, and the passenger, 37-year-old Manuel Mozcoza, also from Los Angeles. A search of their vehicle yielded a stolen catalytic converter and several items of evidentiary value consistent with those who steal catalytic converters. Both suspects were arrested and booked into Alhambra City Jail for grand theft and possession of burglary tools.
