They came by limousine, Uber Lux, and party bus to the Autry Museum of The American West for South Pasadena High School’s junior/senior prom 2018. What seemed like an offbeat choice of venue turned out to be a hugely successful event with killer ambiance that was clearly enjoyed by all.

Early Saturday evening, juniors and seniors gathered for fun group photos throughout the city at venues like parks, schools, gardens and Pasadena City Hall to commemorate the big event.

The Autry museum made full use of a variety of spaces including outdoor tables with festive lighting and décor in the courtyard, a room with an epic guitar hero set up, a green screen set up where one could ride on a moving saddle, a romantic garden, and a balcony overlooking a giant dance floor, along with delicious food, photo booths and caricature artists which all added to what many described as the best school dance ever.

Vice Principal, David Speck, who chaperoned the event, was impressed with the Autry Museum as well as the seniors’ dance moves and said, “kudos to the team of staff and students that helped organize such a wonderful event. A great time was had by all!

Says senior Cate Latting, “Prom was so much fun this year! The DJ played music from all genres, so everyone got to hear something they liked. Although some of us were disappointed about the Autry Museum, we were all proven wrong! The location was beautiful, and perfect for a dance like this.”

Another Prom is in the books as these seniors head into finals, graduation and their future.
