Don’t let the challenges of shopping this holiday season crush your gift-giving dreams. Sip and Shop Soirée sponsored by The Evening Membership of the Woman’s Club of South Pasadena on Saturday, November 27, 2021 from 6-10pm is the answer to your holiday shopping dilemma.
Sip & Shop will offer shoppers a selection of goods from unique and fashion forward independent and creative sellers that locals may not otherwise have the opportunity to discover. As Anne Bagasao, Sip & Shop Co-Chair mentions, “Our vendors were carefully scouted from here in South Pasadena and from LA’s most popular artisanal markets.”
Sip & Shop Soirée will be the first fundraising event of the Evening Membership. A fun and festive night-out is being created to kick off the holiday season with a market style shopping experience. Judy Rivera, Sip & Shop Co-Chair, explains, “It is our goal, through the networks and promotion of our vendors, that attendees from outside of the city will be attracted to South Pasadena and will make it a new shopping and dining destination.”
Sip & Shop is a hugely beneficial shopping alternative for Holiday 2021. Not only will this event offer new, quality and stylishly crafted items to shoppers, it also provides a venue for over twenty indie sellers, local small businesses, vintage curators and creatives to reach a new market of buyers. Both Bagasao and Rivera are proud of the fact that this event will support, not only our South Pasadena High School scholarship program, but it also lifts up and honors local area women business owners.
During 2020, the Club was not able to hold their traditional events that would have ordinarily raised money to put towards the scholarship fund. The goal is to raise funds to close that gap. In addition to being an evening cocktail event, Sip & Shop has five business sponsors: Ellen’s Silkscreening, Nichole Dunville – Coldwell Banker Realty, Simply Better Skin, Dr. Yuli Mosqueda and South Pas Fitness.
Shopping at Sip & Shop Soirée will connect you with a curated selection of local small businesses. For foodie gifts, Tea Spectral, Sweet Treats by Tasty Occasions, Cookie Chaos, Sweet Jane, and Sweet and Simple Baking Co will offer delectable fare. To beautify your home, shop Eastside Proyecto, Gratitude Joy Candles, Partini, Clay Fever Ceramics, Dina & Partners, and Ann Close. For personal beauty and self-care, Raices, S Studio, PulpXStitch, Sola Yuna, Bear and Pi, Bellagazoo Embellishments, Olivia Closet Boutique, Sew What’s Next, Maganda Recycled & Revamped Jewelry, and Simply Better Skin are offering a wide of products to choose from. Crafted Living and Papermum Press are offering handcrafted paper goods, cards, and stationery to celebrate the holiday season.
Sip & Shop is a ticketed event with tickets at $10 per person. Tickets can be purchased online by indicating your purchase as Sip and Shop or at the event. Proof of vaccination or negative COVID test and masks are required.
Live music from the South Pasadena High School music department, a complimentary beer and wine bar, small bites and desserts made by Woman’s Club members and a few artisanal bakers, a raffle, and silent auction will all be featured. Plus, a sale of previously loved quality books with 100% of proceeds benefitting the scholarship fund.
For busy working people and parents, Saturdays are usually filled with sports games, classes and lessons for kids or errand running. This evening event is a viable option for those who are unable to attend the Woman’s Club traditional holiday boutique that takes place during the day. Sip & Shop provides an opportunity for even more friends and neighbors to support the Woman’s Club scholarship program and small businesses by shopping in the historic 1913 Clubhouse.
Put the Sip & Shop Soirée on your Thanksgiving weekend calendar of events and be ready to shop!
