Senior Center Update

The South Pasadena Senior Center invites you to take advantage of the programs and services offered to enhance the quality of life of senior citizens.

The following will be offered the week of March 30 – April 6.

Friday, March 30, 10:30 a.m., Fifty Ways to Discover Inspiration – Sometimes we all need a bit of inspiration to achieve our goals and feel more confident.  Whether you have a specific goal involving projects around the home, or simply want to recapture your enthusiasm for life. Learn about strategies to get back in touch with your passion and inner creativity.  Offered by Heritage Clinics, sign up needed.

Friday, March 30, 11:45 a.m. – Good Friday Luncheon and March Birthday’s celebration, special menu of Spinach Ricotta Lasagna, green salad, garlic bread and apple pie along with birthday cake and surprise following the cake.  A reservation is needed in advance. Followed by Friday Cinema at 1 p.m., Three Billboards Outside of Ebbing Missouri, the film is 1:55 in length and was released in 2017. Walk-ins welcome for the cinema.

Monday, April 2, 10 a.m., Nutrition Based Solutions to Chronic Health – Healthy diets and physical activity are key and necessary for a healthy life.  Eating nutrient dense foods and balancing energy intake with physical activity to maintain a healthy weight is essential to all stages of life.  Join us as Natural Health Practitioner shares information.

Wednesday, April, 3, 10:30 a.m. Maintaining Your Health – Learn how to maintain a healthy lifestyle with easy steps. In turn reduce the risk of developing certain conditions.  Presented by Anthem Blue Cross. Signs up needed.

Friday, April 6, Transitions Forum, 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.  A team of panelists will present information on planning for care in the home, transitioning into a retirement facility, assisted living skilled nursing or wanting to figure out how to stay in your own home with assistance.  Information on funding options, the process of applying for certain programs and various resources that can assist in making tough decisions will be presented. Information booths will also be available. Coffee and treats provided along with lunch at no cost for attendees.  Reservations are required.
