The following will be offered the week of May 14 to May 18:

Monday, May 14: 1:30 p.m. – Foreign film day showing “Departures” a Japanese film from 2008. The films are offered to members of the Senior Center.

Tuesday, May 15: 2:30 p.m.Dinosaur Myths & RealtiesDinosaurs are extremely popular now thanks to the movies like Jurassic Park and Jurassic World, but most of what people think they know about dinosaurs is wrong. In this talk, we’ll define what a dinosaur is and isn’t, how they evolved, and the surprising new discoveries about their feathery coverings, their actual coloration, and some of their behavior–and why Jurassic Park is completely fictional and impossible. Presented by Professor Donald Prothero, offered to members of the Senior Center. Advanced sign up needed, sponsored by the Senior Citizens Foundation of South Pasadena.

Wednesday, May 16: 10 a.m. – “Book Club”  meets the third Wednesday of each month, this month’s reading selection is:  “The Husband’s Secret,” a novel by Liane Moriarty.  The novel tells the story of three women, whose lives unexpectedly interconnect after one of them, discovers a devastating secret.  The group is offered to members of the Senior Center. Group is led by Liz Giffen-Glad.

Thursday, May 17, 9 a.m. – Spanish for Beginners – the class is for the student with no previous knowledge of the language.  The group is led by volunteer Walter Cervantes.  Book purchase is necessary. The class is offered to members of the Senior Center.

Friday, May 18, 1 p.m. – Friday Cinema showing Roman J. Israel, Esq a 2017 film.  The films are offered at no charge to the public.

Lunch menu for the week of May 14 is as follows: Monday 14 – Baked Salmon; Tuesday 15 – Chicken Cordon Blue; Wednesday 16 – Egg Salad; Thursday 17 – Chicken Alfredo and Friday 18 – Roast Tri-Tip.  Reservations are needed.
