Friday, October 12, 10:30am, Essential Keys to True Happiness – Learn the 15 Essential Keys to True Happiness and incorporate them into your daily life. Increase your joy and bring more happiness into your life. Presented by Transitions Hospice, Sign up needed. Walk-ins are welcome.

Friday, October 12, 1:00pm, Friday Cinema – “The Book Club” a 2018 film. Showing is open to all senior citizens.

Monday, October 15, 1pm – 4pm, Podiatry Clinic – Local podiatrist is available the third Monday, by appointment only. Medicare assignment is accepted, however 61 days are needed between visits for Medicare to cover. He does not work with HMO plans but can charge $45 for private pay service.

Monday, October 15, 1:30pm, Gymnasium for the Mind – This dynamic program of directed games and exercises gives the brain a workout and promotes a wide range of cognitive functions in a fun engaging way. $30 due at the time of sign-up. The dates for this course are; Oct. 15, 22, 29 & Nov.5, 19. Instructors: Michael Nye and Robert Leh.

Monday, October 15, 1:00pm, When Humans Almost Vanished – We think that humans are indestructible and that our species will always survive every threat, but prehistory shows this is not true. Understand the surprising convergence of evidence form volcanology, anthropology, and genetics that reveals this amazing story.  Presented by Donald Prothero.

Wednesday, October 17, 10:00 a.m. Book Group– meets third Wednesday of each month. Contact the front desk for list of books the group is reading. Led by Liz Giffen-Glad. Registration required.

Wednesday, October 17, 10:30am to 11:30am, 5 ways to Help Seniors Beat the Holiday Blues – Speaker Paris Silva, Psy D, LCSW will provide steps and tools to help with coping and assist with turning the holidays back to a time of joy. Sign up required.

Friday, October 19, 10:30am, Medicare Changes 2019 – Representative from HealthCare Partners & SCAN health plan will cover changes coming for 2019 and tips on how to evaluate your physician and health plan. Attendees will be eligible for raffle. Coffee & Treats provided. Sign up required.

Lunch menu for the week:  Monday October 15 Baked Herb Chicken, Tuesday October 16 Baked Salmon w/ Dill sauce, Wednesday 17 Meatloaf w/ spinach, Thursday October 18 Chicken Alfredo w/ pasta & peas, and Friday October 19 Chicken Cordon Blue.  Lunches cost $2.25 and required a reservation in advance.
