The South Pasadena Senior Center, located at 1102 Oxley Street in South Pasadena invites senior citizens to take advantage of programs and services offered to enhance their quality of life daily

The following events and activities will be offered at the South Pasadena Senior Center:

Friday, April 12, 10:30 a.m. – Advanced Care Planning before a Health Crisis Occurs – Join us for an important discussion about Advanced Care Planning and how having your wishes in place will help your spouse, loved ones and doctor understand your desires when it comes to your health-care decisions. We will discuss the Advance Healthcare Directive and The Five Wishes. Presented by Maxine Vo with Transitions Hospice. Sign up needed.

Friday, April 12, 1 p.m. – “Friday Cinema” featuring “Green Book” a 2018 film, Drama/Comedy-drama, lasting 2 hours and 10 minute. All seniors are welcome.

Monday, April 15, 3:30 p.m. – “Tech Day” – Are you having trouble with your new or old tech devices? Would you like to learn how to navigate them better? Join us for these Monday sessions as Youth Commissioners teach you how to trouble shoot and navigate your devices, advanced sign up needed.

Wednesday, April 17, 10 a.m. – “Book Club” – Contact the front desk for list of books the group is reading. Led by Liz Giffen-Glad. Registration required.

Wednesday, April 17, 9:30 a.m. – “Crochet & Knitting” – Class will continue this year. Learn to create fun gifts or bring your own projects. Instructor: Jean Shono, $5 per class.

Friday, April 19, 10:30 a.m. – “Francis Galton: Fingerprints & Eugenics” – presentation lead by Professor Harold Goldwhite, Lifelong Learning Program from Cal State LA. Sponsored by Senior Citizens Foundation South Pasadena. 

Friday, April 19, 1 p.m. – “Friday Cinema” featuring “Stan & Ollie” a 2018 film, Drama/Comedy-drama, lasting 1 hour and 38 minutes. All seniors are welcome.

Lunch is served Monday through Friday by reservation.

Friday, April 12 – Breaded Fish Fillet (no tilapia)

Monday, April 15 – Roast Turkey & Swiss Cheese

Tuesday, April 16 – Chicken Cordon Bleu

Wednesday, April 17 – Cuban Shredded Pork

Thursday, April 18 – Chicken Alfredo w/ pasta and peas

Friday, April 19 – Vegetable Lasagna.

Cost per person $2.25 for onsite and reservations are necessary. Home delivered meals are offered to those that are frail or recovering from illness, cost per meal $2.50, contact the office for any application.
