It took South Pasadena High’s boys’ soccer team three overtimes to do it but after a 2-1 victory over Valley Christian on Wednesday the Tigers are moving on in CIF-Southern Section play.
The Tigers will play their second straight road game on Friday, this time heading to Crean Lutheran High School for a 3 p.m. encounter.
With Wednesday’s big win over Valley Christian, South Pasadena High improved to 12-5-4 overall on the season. The Tigers entered the playoffs as the third place finisher in the Rio Hondo League with a 4-4-1 record behind frontrunner Monrovia (9-1-0) and La Cañada (7-1-2).
Monrovia enters CIF action Friday by traveling to face Mountain View High in El Monte while La Canada goes to El Monte High.
