Linda Wah is running to be elected to what would be her third term as the District 5 representative on the PCC Board of Trustees. District 5 represents South Pasadena, San Marino and Temple City. Trustees are the community voice to ensure the District is providing the educational resources needed in the community. Although elected by Area, they are obliged to make decisions that benefit the entire District. Trustees have three main responsibilities: Fiduciary, Policy, and Hire/Fire the Superintendent.
In her role, Wah helped initiate the Dual Enrollment initiative with Chris Holden and represented the Trustees at the statewide level to get resources for Career Pathways.
“I am endorsed by so many national, state, and local leaders, because I am effective in getting resources and programs that benefit our community.” Says Wah. “I am honored to have been elected by my peers at PCC and California to represent them across the nation, which has resulted in bringing millions in funding for our students for Career/Workforce, Financial Aid, and effectively addressing the pandemic.”

Kelly Banh was a Student Trustee in 2015 and calls Linda Wah an exceptional mentor, “she taught me how to be a more effective advocate. Beyond this, she showed my team and I how powerful it is to consider many perspectives as leaders.” She goes on to say, “her leadership and guidance has positively impacted our community and by being re-elected she can continue to do so in this role!”
Zeinab Raad is a Muslim woman who was a trustee and says her found her voice often being drowned out in rooms full of people “older and whiter”, she explains, “Ms. Wah was the first and possibly only trustee that wanted to know of all the student concerns, so she met with me one on one so that my words could go uninterrupted. Every trustee meeting I attended after that meeting, I knew there was always someone in the room that would always support my voice when I was representing students.” Raad emphasizes that “a true leader is one that is capable of active listening while helping to inspire their community and that is exactly the attributes that Ms. Wah holds.”
Wah is also endorsed by Congresswoman Judy Chu, State Senator Anthony Portantino, State Assemblymember Mike Fong, State Assemblymember Chris Holden, State Assemblymember Laura Friedman, State Assemblymember Mike Eng, LA County Supervisor Kathryn Barger, and LA County Supervisor Hilda Solis.
