Music filled the air last Thursday as the South Pasadena Chamber of Commerce held its annual Holiday Tree Lighting Ceremony at the Farmers’ Market in the city.
Festivities began with a performance by the South Pasadena High School Tiger Marching Band performing a blend of holiday sounds and traditional school favorites. A children’s choir from Green Brooms Music Academy provided additional musical entertainment.
The night’s highlight came when South Pasadena Mayor Michael Cacciotti “flipped the switch” to light up the tree.

Ho, Ho, Ho…Santa Claus was also on hand to add to the festivities. Arts and craft activities planned by Kidd’s Jewelry Heist, Partini and SmileHaus Orthodontics added to the fun and festive evening.
The South Pasadena Historic Museum is decorated for the holidays, and the South Pasadena Preservation Foundation will provide seasonal treats for visitors.
If you missed him, elves report that Santa plans to be at this Thursday’s Farmers Market (Dec. 7) to take photos with family members. The market is open from 4 to 7 p.m.
