SPCC brings spectacular program to South Pasadena to celebrate the Lunar New Year

South Pasadena Chinese American Club (SPCC) proudly presents the Lunar New Year Celebration on Sunday February 11 3pm at the South Pasadena Middle School auditorium. It will feature spectacular performances by high school students from Beijing. These 81 students are the Art Troupe of the High School affiliated to Renmin University of China. They are touring Southern California.

You can expect to be dazzled by performances in orchestra music, cultural dance, martial arts, and choir. The students have won many competitions in China and Europe for symphony orchestra music, aerobics, martial arts and dance. The SPCC has sponsored many culturally significant events over the years and this event promises to be one of the finest in the San Gabriel Valley. Admission is free to the performances. The Lunar New Year Celebration is sponsored by the South Pasadena Chinese American Club, The South Pasadena Unified School District and the City of South Pasadena.

Founded in 1989, the South Pasadena Chinese American Club sponsors educational programs, community service activities, and cultural events. SPCC awards scholarships, distribute grants to local schools and library programs, manages the After School Chinese Language Program and coordinates events to celebrate Chinese New Year and the Moon Festival. Other activities include sponsoring the Library Author Nights, the School District Math Field Day and Library Summer Reading Program.
