During last week’s City Council meeting, South Pasadena Mayor Richard D. Schneider, M.D., presented a proclamation to Library Trustees Alan Jutzi and David Uwins declaring April 20 as Library Volunteer Day in South Pasadena. More than 130 library volunteers contributed more than 8,500 hours for library, programs, projects, services, and events in 2017.

The hours volunteers contribute to the library not only help provide services that could not otherwise be offered, they also support the staff behind the scenes, freeing up workers to devote more time directly serving the public, performing duties and presenting programs.
