Yahniie Bridges and Dave Gardino from Journey House, a transition home in Pasadena that assists people who are aged out of foster care, were the speakers at Tuesday’s South Pasadena Rotary Club meeting at Oneonta Congregational Church. Bridges and Gardino told their compelling life stories, in which they were greatly assisted by Journey House in becoming successful adults. Journey House is raising funds to receive a matching grant from Newman’s Own foundation that will expand their ability to assist. They have a thrift store at Orange Grove and Los Robles in Pasadena.
In the above photo, Rotary President Dan Watson presented a book that will be donated in their names to the South Pasadena Library.
The South Pasadena Rotary Club will be dark next week, December 5. Members will be attending the Chamber of Commerce Christmas Party at Priority One Credit Union, starting at 6 pm.
