On Saturday, March 15, 2025, at approximately 4:48 P.M., officers responded to the 800 block of Monterey Road regarding a hot prowl residential burglary in progress.
A “hot prowl” burglary is a burglary where another person, other than an accomplice, was present in the residence during the commission of the burglary.
The resident confronted the suspect, who fled the scene before officers arrived.
Officers reviewed video surveillance of the suspect, which was shared among responding units. A short time later, officers received a report that the suspect had returned to the area.
Officers quickly responded and located the suspect, who was identified as 45-year-old Darrel Brown of San Pedro. Brown was taken into custody without incident. Brown was arrested and booked into the Pasadena City Jail. The case has been forwarded to the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office for prosecution.
