Health Fair Brings the Best Out Of All Ages

From educational booths, a raffle and music, the Senior Center Health Fair had a excellent turn out

Good health was on the mind of many who attended Thursday’s Healthy Aging Fair outside the South Pasadena Senior Center.

Information booths and vendors specializing in senior services were on hand for the 3-1/2 hour event.  Bone density, grip strength tests, along with glucose, hearing, lung and depression screenings were all available of the event.

The nonprofit advocacy organization in South Pasadena is dedicated to improving the choices, care and quality for life for California’s long term care consumers, their families and loved ones

“The importance of holding this event is for people to keep focusing on possible future needs – home care, getting to know their health care providers, and making sure all of their screenings are being taken care of,” explained Liliana Torres, the community services supervisor at the Senior Center. “It also keeps them active and aging gracefully.”

In addition, the event included a nutritional presentation, raffles, coffee, treats and lunch.

“It’s important for people to keep focusing on their health and not just wait until they have to go to their doctor,” explained Torres. “It’s important to take advantage of all the resources here at the fair.”
