It was an Easter egg hunt with a unique name in Garfield Park last Saturday.
Eggstravaganza, a longtime holiday tradition, was a hit!
The city’s Community Services Department hosted the egg-citing event, and dozens turned out from 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m., to take part in age group appropriate egg hunts, arts and crafts, photos with the Easter Bunny, inflatables and more.

The centerpiece of it all was, of course, the mad scramble that is the egg hunt, in which tons of kids excitedly combed over the park in search of the prized colorful eggs.
As one parent said, ” I never would have anticipated the frenzy, those kids go nuts for those eggs!”
