East West Players (EWP) invites audiences to the David Henry Hwang Theater this summer for the highly anticipated revival of Yankee Dawg You Die, running from July 3 to 27, 2025. Directed by acclaimed EWP collaborator Jennifer Chang, this bold reimagining of Philip Kan Gotanda’s seminal play explores identity, ambition, and the complexities of Asian American representation in 1980s Hollywood.
Starring Kelvin Han Yee (May/December, Beef, The Wind Cries Mary) as Vincent Chang and Daniel J. Kim (Cobra Kai, Bel Air, The Brothers Paranormal) as Bradley Yamashita, the play examines the clash between a seasoned veteran actor and an ambitious newcomer as they navigate cultural expectations and personal integrity in the entertainment industry.
