South Pasadena residents and businesses are invited to take part in one of the city’s cherished holiday traditions by contributing an ornament to this year’s community Holiday Tree. The “Donate an Ornament” program—produced by the South Pasadena Arts Council (SPARC) in partnership with the South Pasadena Chamber of Commerce and the City of South Pasadena — invites artists, families, community groups, businesses and residents of all ages to help bring the 2025 tree to life.
This year’s tree theme is inspired by the 2026 Rose Parade’s “The Magic in Teamwork,” celebrating creativity, unity, and the power of collaboration. SPARC’s Holiday Tree Committee, led by Celina Duffy and Brian Bright, has worked to develop a design that reflects the spirit of working together through art. Each ornament donated by the community becomes part of that shared vision.
Participants may contribute a new, used, handmade, recycled, or upcycled ornament. Because the tree is located outdoors, ornaments should be weather-resistant. Donors are asked to place their ornament in a bag or box labeled with their name and contact information. Ornaments will not be returned due to the volume of submissions.
Drop-off bins will be available November 20 thru December 1 at the following locations:
- SPARC – Center Gallery, 1000 Fremont Avenue, Suite 120 (entrance from the rear parking lot)
- South Pasadena Public Library – 1100 Oxley Street
- South Pasadena Senior Center – 1102 Oxley Street
- South Pasadena Chamber of Commerce – 1121 Mission Street
- South Pasadena Historical Museum – 913 Meridian Avenue
All locations will accept ornaments during normal business hours.
The community is then invited to gather for the annual Holiday Tree Lighting Ceremony on Thursday, December 4 at 5:30 PM, held at the South Pasadena Farmer’s Market. Produced by the South Pasadena Chamber of Commerce, the celebration will feature performances by local music, dance, and community groups—creating a festive, family-friendly evening that highlights the creativity and spirit of South Pasadena.
