In honor of Arbor Day week, mayor Richard Schneider awards the 2018 Arbor Day proclamation to Gina Atkinson, president of South Pasadena Beautiful and Dan Watson, president of South Pasadena Rotary.

South Pasadena Beautiful, a local nonprofit organization, is currently hosting a tree planting drive to fill over 750 vacant tree wells in the City of South Pasadena. Because we are proud to be a Tree City USA member, the City of South Pasadena will match each tree donated by community members this year. Healthy trees are important to our city
because they clean the air, provide oxygen, cool the streets, provide shade thereby conserving energy, provide homes for wildlife like birds, help prevent soil erosion and water pollution, and beautify our City.
