The South Pasadena Police Department will host a Prescription Drug Take Back event on Saturday, April 26, 2025, from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. in the courtyard of City Hall. This community initiative, part of DEA National Take Back Day, aims to help residents safely discard unwanted, unused, or expired prescription medications and prevent potential misuse.

Helping to combat drug misuse and environmental harm
The event is designed to prevent medications from being misused, stolen, or improperly discarded, which can lead to substance abuse or environmental contamination. Flushing medications or tossing them in the trash can have serious health and safety implications.
By participating in this nationwide effort, South Pasadena residents can play an important role in keeping their households and community safe. The event is free and anonymous, with no questions asked.
Community partners and safety message
This event is supported by Parents Anonymous, Ralphs, and Day One, emphasizing a unified community effort to address prescription drug misuse and improve public health. The South Pasadena Police Department encourages everyone to “Keep them safe. Clean them out. Take them back.”
